Skinny J’s was started in 2009 in a tiny little spot outside of Jonesboro called Cash, AR. After returning home from Johnson and Wales Culinary School in Charlotte, NC, Chef James Best had a vision to provide great food to the people of Jonesboro and all the surrounding areas. The doors first opened in October of 2009 and it was a smash hit! Skinny J’s had a packed house every weekend night with people lining up at the door. Customers drove from all over to sink their mouths into specialties like hand-cut certified angus beef ribeyes, seared scallops, fresh ahi tuna, and homemade pastas. With the popularity of the restaurant and the revitalization of downtown Jonesboro, Chef James Best decided to move his vision to Main Street and become a private club. The Cash, AR restaurant shut its doors in October of 2010 with the anticipation of the new location which opened on December 4, 2010.
As a new and upcoming restaurant Skinny J’s looks forward to a lifetime of providing Jonesboro, Paragould, and North Little Rock residents with a great place to dine!
